LUCKNOW: With large crowds of devotees turning up at major Shiva temples across Uttar Pradesh on Shravan Shivratri on Tuesday, police and district administrations stepped up security, traffic and crowd-management arrangements at prominent shrines, including Baghpat’s Pura Mahadev Temple and Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
In Baghpat, with a massive influx of devotees expected at the Pura Mahadev Temple for Shravan Shivratri and a three-day Mahashivratri fair, police stepped up security and traffic arrangements, with additional deployment of personnel across the temple complex and Kanwar Yatra routes.
Baghpat Superintendent of Police Suraj Kumar Rai inspected the arrangements at the temple complex and reviewed security, crowd management and parking.
