Very heavy rain likely in Kerala; IMD issues ‘orange alerts’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The IMD on Tuesday predicted very heavy rainfall in Kerala over the coming days, placing several districts under ‘orange alert’ between June 2 and 5

It also said the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala by June 4.

The India Meteorological Department issued an ‘orange alert’ for three northern Kerala districts—Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad—for Tuesday, and a ‘yellow alert’ for the remaining 11 districts.
